07/2009 - Great Smoky Mountains - Hike to Mount LeConte : This was my 5th hike to Mount LeConte and again we decided to try alternative routes. Our ascent was via the Trillium Gap Trail (with a short side hike to Brushy Mountain) and descent was by Alum Cave Trail. At the summit we stopped at LeConte Lodge and then hiked on to Myrtle Point and Cliff Tops. Amazing views and a few friendly deer. Roundtrip 15 miles. (GPS coordinates embedded)
